After visiting the in-laws in Palm Springs and San Diego, it was time to head out for new adventures. I decided to ride up the coast, but each time I thought about stopping to take a picture, I remembered all the slow cars I had to pass to get ahead. In the end, I didn’t take any pictures Monday.
I spent Monday night in Paso Robles, CA, and started Tuesday at 74 degrees. It got progressively cooler until I had to pull over to put on my jacket. It was cloudy/foggy all the way to San Francisco, and across the Golden Gate bridge. I stopped long enough to take a few pictures of the Golden Gate (after crossing it), and a few selfies with it in the background.
The weather broke north of San Francisco and got really warm – I had to switch to Highway 101 due to a road closure – which lasted until I got to Willits, CA. Once there, I turned west to get back to Highway 1, and by the time I got to Fort Bragg, CA, it was 60 degrees. 30 miles makes a huge difference, and 60 degrees with no jacket is NO BUENO!
I hope to make it to Newport, OR, or even higher Wednesday.
